I contacted a lot of photographers in the tri state area. What I found was high prices and/or someone with attitude. Bill Allen stood out above the rest. He has very reasonable prices, state of the art equipment, quick turnaround time and most importantly -- his work is amazing --he brought out the best in my daughter. He took the time to review all the pictures with us so that we could pick the perfect set for her Zed card. I highly recommend Bill Allen to all. A true professional--

Good headshot photographer and nice person to do business with. Very nice pictures and very natural looking. I've seen a number of headshots for other people where they look so made up that it doesn't look like them in person. My daughter wore a little makeup and that was enough. He takes a lot of photos to choose from and the price is reasonable."

Dear Mr. Allen,
I have had a great interest in William Mortensen's work and his photographic techniques for
many years and have searched extensively for as much information about him and his
processes, so it comes as a great surprise that I have only now found your site. For the past
few years I have been corresponding with Robert Balcomb (master portraitist and former
Mortensen student as well) who has been mentoring me on the single strobe method of portrait photography as he learned from Mortensen.
I have also had the pleasure of corresponding with another former Mortensen student, Stephen Gillette,before he passed away.
I am a darkroom practitioner employing the use of paper negatives and other methods used by the pictorialists of the past.
With all of that, I just would like to say 'hello' and that I find your earlier works to be as striking
as those of William Mortensen himself. How I wish I could have had such an opportunity
